ramblings.

So I started the day off on the wrong foot. I woke up, got ready for work, then started feeling weak and faint. So I laid down for a bit. But when I got up again, I still felt faint, so I emailed my boss and told him I would be late.

I've had these faint feelings before and they are no fun. I've learned I just need to lay down and eat something. I usually start to feel better after 30 minutes or an hour. And sure enough, after I ate some cereal and rested with my feet up, I felt fine. I think my problem this morning was that I didn't eat before I showered. So by the time I was ready to head off to work, I was hot from my shower and hungry. Which = faint feeling.

I've noticed over the last week or so that I am feeling the baby constantly now. Well, not constantly, but at least several times a day. Mostly they are jabs and kicks. Which is so cool feeling. But also a little freaky. I mean, what isn't freaky about a little human being poking you from the inside? Let's be real, it's a little weird. But I wouldn't trade the feeling for anything in the world.

I also felt a few kicks with my hand from the outside this weekend. I was laying in bed Friday night and felt a few bumps near my belly button. So I put my hand there and pressed a little bit, and sure enough, it kicked again! I may have to try the flashlight trick one of these days to see if I can get it to kick for B.

And now I'm waffling again about our nursery furniture. I'm going to wait to order anything until after our big u/s next week regardless. But now I'm leaning away from the Baby Cache line at BRU. I've read more and more reviews that says it scratches too easily. Which I totally believe because I was able to scratch it with my fingernail pretty easily when we checked it out in the store.

So now I'm leaning more towards the Munire line. I need to go check it out again at the baby boutique here in town one last time before making a decision. Who knew picking out baby furniture would be such a big decision? Actually, *I* should have. I do this with everything, haha.

In other good news, I think we've finally sold our car. We have a buyer, he was approved for a loan through his bank, we filled out all the necessary paperwork late last week, and his bank is mailing a check to my bank today. So I am hoping by the end of this week, that loan will be paid off and we can hand over the car to him. Which will be great because we can now use that money that was going towards the car payment towards baby stuff instead. So yay for that!

EDITED TO ADD:

I forgot to mention that I went and checked out hospitals this weekend with my mom. There are 2 in our area so I wanted to check them out and see if one struck my fancy more than the other. They actually both turned out to be pretty nice. Although I think I'm leaning towards the one that handles less volume. They seem more laid back there, but they still have all the necessary things (like a NICU in case of an emergency). Plus, they have a more active security system. You can't just walk into the L&D floor, you have to be buzzed in. And your baby wears a security node thing that locks all the doors if taken too close to them.

I also got us signed up for child birthing classes today. B was a little surprised when I told him over the weekend that he needs to plan to go. I told him "Um hello, this isn't a one woman show you know. You need to know what to expect, how to help me, etc." His reply? "Well, I've seen the tv shows." Um yeah, that doesn't count. I think he got the hint. So we are scheduled to go for 2 Saturday mornings in mid-November. I'll be around 32 weeks then.
