nursery plans.

Ever since I ordered our nursery furniture, I swear my creative juices have been flowing like a mad woman. I wanted to get started painting the nursery ASAP. And it's a good thing I was planning on it because my furniture is supposed to ship out either today or Monday. Eek!

So I've come up with a few cute ideas for what I want to do. I am going to paint 3 of the walls a medium brown. Those of you that know me and have been to my house, it will be the same color brown that's in my dining room. And I plan to start painting those this weekend.

My dilemma lies in what color to do the accent wall. Light turquoise or light pink? Here is my plan. The crib will be the only piece of furniture along the accent wall. And it will be centered on the wall. I then want to get these adorable tree vinyl wall decals I found on Etsy and put one tree on either side of the crib. And I want to get an adorable owl that the same Etsy seller makes and have him perched on one side behind the crib.

These are the mock ups I threw together in Photoshop so you get a better idea. These are what the actual decals look like, and that's a stock pic of the crib I ordered. Everything is to scale.



My first thought was to obviously do turquoise if it's a boy and pink if it's a girl. But then one of my friends suggested doing turquoise regardless, since it's such a soft pretty color. And I do love turquoise! Then I could still accent everything else with pink, like the bedding, lamp, curtains, wall prints, etc., because the two colors complement each other. Plus, there are pink hearts in the trees. And it could substitute for a sky color, right?

So I think that's what I'm leaning towards doing. Although I still haven't decided for sure. I'm going to paint the brown walls first, since I went out and bought that paint at lunch today anyways. And hopefully in the next day or two I will have made up my mind!
