furniture drama.

So I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we will actually get the furniture I ordered a few weeks ago.

I got a call from customer service early last week telling me that the dresser was no longer available in the color I ordered (cherry).  They wanted to know if I would be happy with the baby caddy instead, which is very similar.  After thinking it over and calling them back, I inquired about switching lines completely.  They sell several different lines of the Ragazzi brand and I found out that one of the lines that was previously listed at full price, was now the same price as the set I ordered.

I couldn't quite decide which route I should go, so the rep took it upon herself to just order both for me.  I learned that it's really becoming an issue of whether or not ANY of the pieces will be available.  They are having a hard time getting answers from their supplier.  And since the cherry color is being discontinued completely, the pieces I ordered may run out before I actually get anything shipped to me.  Which is really stressing me out because I really loved the set.  I mean, it was really nice high quality stuff.  And we were saving 40% off the full price.  I just can't justify paying $3400 on something we were going to get for $1800.

I do think it's awesome of the rep to order both sets for me though.  Her rationale is that hopefully one of the sets will come in.  I would honestly be happy with either set.  And she's not charging me for the second set.  So whichever one comes in, I will get.  If both of them come in, she said they will just sell as a floor model in their store.  So no skin off my back.  She was hoping one of them would be on the truck shipment they got this past Friday, but that didn't happen.  So now we wait until their next shipment, which isn't until next Friday.

Honestly, I don't really care about how long it's taking.  I'd just like to know for sure if we're going to get what we ordered.  I wish they could get a straight answer from their supplier.  I hate not having any concrete answers.  I feel like it's all up in the air now and we may not get anything at all.  Which would really suck because then we'd have to order something cheaper.

It's times like these that I have to just remind myself to be thankful for what we do have.  Which is a healthy baby boy.  That really is the most important thing.  Not the type of furniture that he sleeps in.
