i hope i don't catch it.

I found out earlier today that a guy down the hall from me at work has the swine flu. Evidently, he was in the office on Tuesday, diagnosed on Wednesday, and is now working from home.

A coworker suggested I call my OB's office and see if I should take Tamiflu now, or just wait to see if I start showing any symptoms. Still waiting to hear back from them on that one. But my manager did suggest I work from home for the rest of the week as a precautionary measure. So that was nice. And I told my coworkers to keep me posted on whether or not it spreads to anyone else. If it starts spreading around to everyone else, then I may just stay home next week too. No sense in risking it and I can do my job just fine from home.

So let the hand washing and hand sanitizing commence. Or should I say continue, since I've been pretty diligent about it for years now. Haha.

I think I'm leaning towards getting the vaccine once it comes out too. I know my OB has already recommended I do, along with the regular flu shot. It's one of those things I keep hearing pg women debate about though. Whether or not it's worth it to be a guinea pig. It's a tough call because I certainly don't want me or my baby to be a guinea pig in all this mess, only to find out something is wrong because of it down the line. I don't want either of us to catch it though either. So I still have some thinking to do.

  1. oh man that is scary. I wasnt sure about getting the vaccine at first, but after talking to my OB and doing more research online I have decided to do it along with the seasonal flu shot (which I always get anyways).
