I'm feeling blah today. I know, real exciting, right? But I am encouraged by it because up until this point, I have been feeling pretty good. I was even talking to some ladies online yesterday about why I haven't had any morning sickness so far. Usually, you hear of women complaining about it starting around week 6 and I haven't had any thus far, except for a few random days of blah-ness here and there.
Anyways, I feel like I want to go crawl into bed and not get out all day. It doesn't help that I didn't sleep well last night. I just had a hard time falling asleep because my brain wouldn't shut off. I hope this day goes by fast so I can get home and relax.
Oh, and I found out yesterday that as long as I deliver after November 17, 2009 (my 1 year anniversary here at work), I will get 12 weeks of maternity leave at 100% of my pay. As well as 10 "parental leave days" to use as I please within the 1st year (or I can take them all at once, tacked on to the end of my maternity leave). And it also looks like I can take off an additional 13 weeks after that, but at 60% of my pay. Still, that is a fabulous deal. So yay for my company rocking in the maternity leave department (as well as the IF insurance department)!
I also found out that if I ever have another one and it's after my 3 year anniversary here at work, I would get a full 25 weeks off all at 100% of my pay. That is absolutely awesome!
I know, I know, it's a little premature to be thinking about maternity leave yet. But a coworker mentioned it so I looked it up to see if she was right. And indeed she was! So let's just hope I make it that far.
In other news, tomorrow's the big day! Already nervous again. Already have the bubblies just thinking about it. I have a feeling I will be nervous for every.single.ultrasound I ever have, so get used to hearing about it.
honestly-it isn't too soon to think about mat leave--we just found out that we missed a chance to get on a one year waiting list for an awesome and cheap! childcare. (its a nonprofit). not to stress you out. and actually, childcare always works out.
ReplyDeleteyou are soooooooo lucky. holy cow. are they an international company? those are the only companies that i have heard have those benefits. thou, they are so smart to keep a good employee-stats show that in the *long* run companies end up saving $ in the end.

it's christina. can you make your blog where you don't have to put in the random word to show that we aren't a machine? i have that on my blog-and i've never had anyone but a real commenter.
ReplyDeleteLet me see if I can figure it out.
ReplyDeleteAlso, you can come visit whenever! Except this weekend, the ILs are coming into town. July 4th we're having a big shindig at our house, my dad is doing a pig pickin, so it'll be a huge bbq type thing at my house. You're welcome to come then. Or whenever. :)
