And we have a baby! With a heartbeat! 118 bpm. And I am measuring slightly ahead at 6w4d. Due date is January 11, 2010.
There are actually 2 sacs in there. The other one is only measuring 5w5d though. We could clearly see a yolk sac, but there is no embryo yet. The doc doesn't sound very optimistic about it and thinks it is most likely a vanishing twin.
Although I have heard so many stories from other women that end up seeing 2 heartbeats after going in for their 2nd u/s. So I'm not going to count that 2nd one out, at least not quite yet. I know the odds are against it since it's measuring so far behind, and I will be fine with the outcome either way. I can't help but root for it a little though.
Anyways, I'll find out for sure next Friday, when I go in for my next u/s. I should be 7w4d then, so we definitely should find out for sure either way.
Hooray for a heartbeat! One important milestone is under our belts, and a bazillion more to go!
woot! woot! u/s can vary as much as 5 days, so you never know, this is soooooo exciting. i assume it made you feel better? i hope so!!!!! the chance of you have a baby is 97-98% after the h/b.
