13 weeks.

Sorry this is a day late. I took the day off yesterday to relax and recover from the hectic holiday weekend. Plus, I have never figured out how to properly upload pics on our Mac, so I waited until today. Only 2 more days and I will have officially made it to the 2nd trimester!

Here is my belly pic from yesterday. Seems to be filling out a little more above my belly button this week.

I also had my 13 week appointment today. They checked the heartbeat on the doppler first thing, which was nice. Then the doc asked me if I was going to do the quad screen in the 2nd trimester. I'm still not sure, so we talked for a while about that. I'm leaning more towards not doing it, but I still need to discuss it with B later.

Then she asked me if I had thought about my birth plan yet. I looked at her like she was crazy. It hadn't even occurred to me to really think about that yet. She said it's really up to me, but she is not opposed to doing an elective C-section if that's what I want. I think she suggested that because of my size (5'5", small frame) and the fact that 9 lb babies run in my family. I need to go pick up some books and do some reading before I really make a decision though. I was NOT expecting her to just out and out suggest a C-section for me.

Of course, if this baby surprises us though and runs on the small side, then that will be a moot point anyways. It was just weird for a doc to actually bring that up first. Usually it's the patients that push hard for wanting an elective C-section. And I made no mention of the word to her. I did tell her I don't particularly want to be induced though. And that I do plan to use meds.

Anyways, my next appointment is in exactly 4 weeks. And then my big u/s is scheduled exactly 2 weeks after that, when I will be 19w1d. Can't wait! Oh, and I also found out I've only gained 3 lbs so far. Not too bad at all. Although that is technically from 9-13 weeks. I know I gained slightly more than that prior to my first OB appointment.

Oh, and last but not least, 13 weeks = peach!
