fun weekend.

Friday afternoon I learned about a huge kid's consignment sale going on in a town that's about 2 hours away.  Evidently some of these large consignment sales allow first time moms to come in and shop during a pre-sale.  Luckily, my sis agreed to go with me.  So off we went bright and early Saturday morning.

My mission was to get some cheap maternity clothes, and I lucked out.  I got 2 cute tops and 2 pairs of pants.  I also got 3 really cute gender neutral outfits for the little one.  Two of them are basically warm sleepers for the winter months, and the other is like a really warm sleep sack to take the baby out in the cold weather.  And it's car seat compatible.  Oh, and last but not least, I got baby's first pair of Chuck Taylors.  They are so cute!  And so tiny!  B was impressed.

It was quite a zoo while we were there though.  We got there right when it opened at 9am and I still managed to miss out on some of the larger baby items I was looking for, namely a pack n play, swing, and bouncer.  They had each in the styles I like, but they already had sold signs on them by the time I made my way over.  Oh well, guess that's just the luck of the draw.

Then I was scoping out Craigslist this morning and found an adorable horse jumperoo in really good condition.  It makes the cutest horse sounds when the baby bounces around in it.  I had to have it, being a horse lover and all.

I have to admit that I've been obsessed with Craigslist lately.  I keep watching for any good deals on pack n plays, cribs, changing tables, and recliners.  I will probably end up buying our nursery furniture brand new, but I figure it doesn't hurt to be on the lookout just in case someone is selling something really nice for a good price.  Because I'm anticipating all of our furniture running around $1500 or so.  Which is quite a chunk.  But I'm really picky though, so I will only buy things off of Craigslist that are the specific patterns or style that I want.  Doesn't hurt to save some money where I can, right?
