my niece cracks me up.

So we were over at my parent's house on Friday night for dinner, along with my sister and her kids.  My niece, who is 5, has been so excited about Baby Nate's impending arrival.  She is constantly rubbing my belly and talking about how excited she is to have a baby cousin.

Anyways, she was sitting at the kitchen counter and out of the blue she says to me, "I remember I was so surprised when I found out you had a baby in your tummy.  Because I remember you had to take the baby shots and I was so surprised they worked!"

Seriously, it flabbergasts me that she remembers this stuff.  She was over at our house one evening back when we were in the midst of our IVF cycle and I was standing in the kitchen doing my nightly shots.  She came in and asked what I was doing, so I told her I had to take shots in my tummy to help me have a baby.  I explained to her that some women have to take shots in order to have a baby and some don't.  She was quiet for a second and then she said, "My mommy takes special pills to NOT have a baby."  And I laughed and told her yes, some women take pills to not have a baby too.

She really cracks me up sometimes.  And amazes me with the things she remembers.
