Tuesday it was back to daycare, so I took him a few jars and let his teachers know that he wasn't that great of an eater, but they could try it if they wanted to at least give him some practice. He gave them a little trouble on Tuesday but apparently was starting to get the hang of it. That night, I fed him sweet potatoes and he started to actually slurp them off the spoon. Which was a big improvement from before, when I would spoon it into his mouth and he would just let it puddle there as he "talked" to me.
Wednesday was even better. His teacher said he ate almost the entire jar of bananas plus a bit of cereal/BM mixed in. That night, I tried giving him squash and he ate about half the jar, and was getting even better with the spoon.
Last night, I gave him bananas and cereal for dinner and he gobbled down the entire jar. I could tell he really liked bananas because he kept staring at me and opening his mouth before I even got close to him with the spoon. So he is finally getting a hang of the spoon thing and is overall eating much better. I'm so proud. :)
Oh, AND he is also starting to get the hang of sitting by himself. I just figured this out the other day when we took him in for his 6 month photo shoot. The photographer asked what kind of milestones he was doing and I said he could kind of sit up, but that I had to be right there to catch him after a few seconds. So she said, lets give it a try for a few of the shots. Imagine my amazement when we sit him up and he just keeps sitting and sitting and sitting. All by himself! So we got some really cute shots of him sitting up like a big boy.
I can't believe how fast he is growing up.
