Speaking of work, I am heading back in just one short week. On one hand, I'm excited. I miss my friends there. I miss daily adult interaction. And honestly, it will be nice not to have my entire day revolve around naps, feedings, and crying.
I will definitely miss him though. This past week or so he has really started to change. He actually will wake up from naps with a smile on his face. And he will smile real big at me as soon as he sees me. He talks up a storm to the little elephants hanging over his pack n play while I change his diaper. He is just becoming a lot more fun and I will miss that. Although I know he will be in good hands at daycare. I do plan to go and visit him each day at lunch at first. At least until we both adjust.
In other news, we went and had some pictures taken today by the same friend that took my maternity pictures. I can't wait to see how they turned out. She had a whole Easter set, so I think we got some cute shots of him with the bunny and baby chicks she had. She took lots of other poses too. And some of just he and I together. I hope those turned out good because I would really like a nice picture of just the two of us.
Oh, and we also took him on his first road trip last weekend. We drove 10+ hours up to WV to the ski hill at Snowshoe and met up with our BIL and SIL. I don't think we could have picked a worse weekend, at least in my opinion (my husband would beg to differ). It was basically a blizzard the entire weekend. B loved it because it made for great snowboarding conditions evidently. I hated it though because it meant we couldn't spend much time outdoors with Nate. I had planned to shop around the village with SIL, but we really couldn't get out much with as cold and windy as it was. Snow pelting your eyes at 50 mph isn't really that fun. Nate did great though. He loves the car, so he slept wonderfully both there and back. And he did pretty good at the resort too. Thankfully his schedule didn't get too out of whack.
I can't believe he is 2 months old already. Speaking of which, he goes in for his first round of shots this week. Not really looking forward to that. I've heard it can kind of throw them for a loop for a day or two. Hopefully they won't affect him too bad. They're also going to retest his diaper for blood. I have a strong feeling it will still be positive though. I was still seeing blood up until a day or two ago. It's never a lot, but I can definitely tell sometimes that there is still a little bit there. Which frustrates the hell out of me because I haven't been eating any dairy, beef, or soy for weeks now. I'm not sure what else I can do. I definitely don't want to switch to formula though. So I'll have to see what the pedi has to say when we see her on Tuesday.
