all systems go.

Today is CD3.  I went in for the usual b/w and u/s check.  Everything looked good, so I was given instructions to start the BCPs tonight.  Just took my first one actually.  Talk about bizarro.

So the plan is that I will continue with the BCPs until Feb 11.  I get back from vacation on the 10th, so they're having me come in the day after to check things out.  If everything looks quiet that day like it should, then I'll get a couple days off of the BCPs before starting Follistim.  He's talking about starting me out on a lower dosage of 112iu to see how I respond.  Low and slow is fine with me.  And I told him I'd like to be monitored every other day, so we can keep track of how I'm responding.

He's also ordered some Ganirelix for me to have on hand, in case I need it.  I have a feeling I will, given my past IUI experiences.

So if all goes well, IUI #3 will be happening around the 3rd or 4th week of Feb.

I am so not getting my hopes up for this cycle though.  It's not that I'm being negative.  More like realistic.  I know the odds with IUI aren't very good.  Quite honestly, I'm more focused on seeing how I respond to this particular protocol than anything else.  I really truly feel like IVF is going to be what it takes to get us and keep us pg.  And this IUI will be the first time I have ever been closely monitored.  So maybe it will give us the head start we need to figure out what protocol will work best for me for IVF.  Fingers crossed.
